Indian Overseas Bank has announced a total of 250 vacancies for Local Bank Officer posts. Candidates can apply for only one State.

Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for the Local Bank Officer post must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
Applicants must possess a valid marksheet or degree certificate confirming their graduation eligibility on the date of online registration. Candidates are also required to enter their graduation percentage in the application form.
Local Language Eligibility
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak the specified local language of the State for which they have applied.
Candidates who have not studied the relevant local language in Class 10th or 12th may have to appear for and qualify the Language Proficiency Test (LPT) before the Personal Interview.
Age Limit
The prescribed age limit for IOB LBO Recruitment 2026 is 20 to 30 years as on 01 August 2026.
The candidate should have been born between 02 August 1996 and 01 August 2006, both dates inclusive.
Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved categories as per Government of India rules. This includes relaxation for SC/ST, OBC Non-Creamy Layer, PwBD, eligible Ex-Servicemen and other categories as specified in the recruitment notification.
IOB LBO Salary
The Local Bank Officer post is offered in JMGS-I / Scale-I with a pay scale of ₹48,480 to ₹85,920.
Apart from basic pay, selected candidates will be eligible for applicable DA, HRA, CCA and other allowances and benefits according to the bank’s rules.
Selected candidates will remain on probation for two years of active service. The recruitment also requires a Financial Service Indemnity Bond of ₹2 lakh for the prescribed minimum service period.

The online examination contains 140 objective questions carrying 200 marks. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer, as prescribed in the notification.
The minimum aggregate qualifying marks are 35% for unreserved candidates and 30% for reserved candidates.
Personal Interview
The Personal Interview carries 100 marks. Candidates belonging to unreserved categories are required to secure the prescribed minimum qualifying marks, while applicable relaxation is provided to reserved categories as per the recruitment rules.
The final merit score will be prepared by considering the online examination and Personal Interview in the 80:20 ratio.
